On March 16th, 1998, under the shadows of the imposing "Twin Towers Jail", members of ANCPR hit the streets of Los Angeles to protest a Child Support Collection System that is out of control. We made it clear, and the media picked up the message, that this system was coming between parents and their children, and sending parents into exile.

KCAL-9 covered the ANCPR protest march on their noon, 3pm, and 10pm news casts. It was a very favorable coverage, stating sympathetically our point of view.

Lowell Jaks, President of ANCPR spoke before the television camera with some of the protest signs behind him.

Here we are, in front of the Division 82 Courthouse. We were surprised by the reaction of many of the sheriff deputies that stopped to show their support. Also, several attorneys from the Public Defender's office came out to let us know that it was about time someone protested what was going on inside the courtroom.

Here's a sight that is probably familiar to many of you: an inside view of the courtroom that is dedicated to hearing child support cases. Notice how many lawyers. Total chaos.

This is Charles Powell, former member of Los Angeles county's 10 most wanted "Deadbeat Parents".
