STRIKE BACK!!

HOW TO FIGHT THE SYSTEM

   "Dialing Without Dollars"

What is "Dialing Without Dollars?"

We understand that some people have been dialing government and non-governmental 800 numbers in an attempt to frustrate the system's ability to collect child support.  We must say, do not do this!!! It costs the government thousands of dollars, and it pretty much brings the business of these collection agencies to a halt!! Therefore, ANCPR says you must not do this!  Don't do anything that would cause these people to lose money and go out of business!!

. Toll-free numbers cost you nothing, but they cost the sponsoring agencies plenty. They are a "measured service" meaning they are billed by the minute - so please, do not call them and then sit on the line for hours, buring the government's money. This will cause the bureaucrats to use this as an example of how valuable their service is and continue to ask for more and more money, phone lines and staff.  This will cost even more money!!

Several collection agencies on the following list have threatened to take action against ANCPR for including them on this list!

Apparently, some people have put their computer or FAX machine to work. They all have auto-dial features. They set their auto-dialers this way, so that it automates their calling, and then they go to bed, letting the computer dial the number repeatedly for the entire night!   Again, do not do this!! This will cause these people to lose sleep, and will cost them hundreds of dollars to get new numbers, and could even force them out of business!  We have been informed that this is how these people are setting their autodialers on their computers.  If yours is set this way, you should change it as soon as possible.

Number of Retries: As high as possible (e.g. 999)
Timeout Value: Make it 1 minute (the length of the msg)
Time between Retries: As short as possible (e.g. 1 minute)

So, while these people  sleep, go shopping, are at work or on vacation - they are actively working to  destroy the system. This activity is absolutely dispicable!  How could they do such a thing.  After all, the government is just trying to help you, right?  The collection agents are just trying to help, right?

WARNING- dialing 800/888 numbers will leave a trace back to your number (the originating phone number). If contacted regarding excessive calls, they then claim ignorance (gee whiz, I didn't know what my computer was doing). Some have employed a more anonymous approach - they either 1) send out emails (to newsgroups) over the Internet listing this number as free phone sex, prize claim center or other BS that will generate thousands of calls or 2) print up a bunch of stickers with one of the numbers advertising free phone sex, etc., and stick them on pay phones throughout your favorite cities.

Again, ANCPR says "don't do this!!!!", since it will cost the system money, and lead to its collapase!  Don't do any of these things which could impair these organizations' ability to collect child support.  After all, the government is our friend!  It helps us in every way, cradle to grave, right?  Why would we want to frustrate the government's ability to help us even more?

Here are some numbers that people apparently copy & paste these into their ISP-provided dialer. They often need  to add commas if the automated answering system asks for a language before continuing (it still works, but doesn't stay on as long).

"We Tip" Hotline 1-800-752-7463 (75CRIME)

The folks from "We Tip" have announced that they too wish to enter the Child Support collections industry - so,  many people have decided to target this organization to teach them a lesson!

Here are other numbers in the private sector that some people are calling:
CSA (Child Support Enforcement) 1-800-801-5437 (KIDS)
Some have tried to hack their site www.supportkids.com

Here's what these people say about themselves:

" Our founder, Casey Hoffman, ran the largest government program in the country. During each of his last two years in office, the program was recognized by the U.S. Congress as the most improved child-support enforcement program in the nation. He is Past President of a State Bar Association, a former Assistant District Attorney, and is currently President-Elect of the National Child Support Enforcement Association."

Casey, of course, is not in this for the money, but…"Complete this quick test to see whether you may qualify.

 1. Do you have any signed court order for child support? (Remember... a divorce decree is a court order.)

2. Are you owed or will you shortly be owed at least $5,000?"

Apparently, some people have posted these numbers on pay phones telling people they can win $1,000 if they call in and get a special winning message (but they have to keep calling). As a public service, we want to keep the public informed of what these people are doing.  If you know of any other 800 numbers that have had calls from individual who are trying to destroy the system, send them in and we will post them.
